Sonprayag is a beautiful town located in the Rudraprayag district of Uttrakhand. This is one of the main towns on the Kedarnath Temple Route. Sonprayag Parking Facility
Sonprayag is the last place on the Kedarnath Route that is accessible by private vehicle. After this point, no private vehicle is allowed to go to Gaurikund. This is due to the lack of parking facilities in Gaurikund. During the 2013 Kedarnath disaster, all the parking facilities in Gaurikund were destroyed. After 2013, parking facilities for tourists were constructed in Sonprayag at a cost of 75 crore. The capacity is around 1500 vehicles, and more capacity is under construction.
After Sonprayag, public taxis are available for passengers to travel from Sonprayag to Gaurikund. Parking facilities are also available in Sitapur and Phata.
Parking charges are given below:
- RS 50 for two wheelers for 12 hours and add on after every 12 hours.
- RS 100 for four whelers for 12 hours and add on after every 12 hours.

The distance between Sonprayag and Gaurikund is only 5.2 kilometres. But it will take 30 minutes to an hour, depending on traffic conditions. It is advisable to clear all the online registrations before The public vehicle charges are Rs 50, and they may change every year according to government norms.
