Mumbai is the financial capital of India. Every year, many pilgrims visit Kedarnath from Mumbai.
Following modes can be used to travel:
- Roadway
- Railway
- Airway
Mumbai to Kedarnath : Roadway
The distance between Mumbai and Kedarnath is around 1800 to 2000 km by road. This distance depends on which route you choose to travel. The time taken to travel this distance is around 35 to 40 hours. And if you add rest time, it may take up to three days. Roadway is contructed to Gaurikund on Kedarnath route, after that 16 km trek started to reach Kedarnath Temple.
Generally three routes are used to Travel from Mumbai to Kedarnath.
- NH 52 : Mumbai – Nasik -Indore – Gwalior – Delhi – Kedarnath
- NH 48 : Mumbai – Vadodara – Udaipur – Bhilwara -Delhi -Kedarnath
- NH 48 & NH 62 : Mumbai -Vadodara -Ahmedabad – Jodhpur – Muzaffarnagar – Kedarnath
NOTE: Generally, roads are not used to travel to Kedarnath because the time of travel is longer, it causes fatigue, and the travel cost is expensive.

Mumbai to Kedarnath : Railway
The railway is the most common mode of transport to reach Kedarnath from Mumbai. Because rail is cheaper and more comfortable than roadways. The last railway junction on the Khedarnath route is Haridwar or Rishikesh. The total time taken to reach the last junction via train is around 20 to 24 hours. Afterward, roadways are used to reach Gaurikund, and after Gaurikund, a 16-km trek starts.

- Directly Mumbai to Haridwar
- Mumbai to Delhi and then Delhi to Haridwar
Mumbai to Kedarnath : Airway
Mumbai to Kedarnath by flight is one of the best and most comfortable modes of travel. Road trips are long and tiring. so passengers travel by flight. There is no airport in Kedarnath or nearby. The nearest airport is Dehraun Airport.
Hence, there are two options.
- Travel directly to Dehradun Airport, then travel by road to Kedarnath from Dehradun.
- Travel to Delhi and then Dehradun by connecting flight.
