One of the well-known holy locations, Sheshnetra, is located 1.5 km from Badrinath. This huge rock has been carved with the eye of a mythological snake. It is said that Lord Vishnu rode the enormous snake Ananta Shesha to run away. The granite at this holy location has natural impressions. The hallowed Badrinath shrine is said to be protected by the Sheshnetra.
