Kedarnath to Gaurikund is around 16 km, and it will take 6 to 8 hours due to the descent. After Gaurikund, the roadway starts. The total distance by road is around 70 km from Gaurikund to Chopta. It will take 3 to 4 hours.
This route includes Gaurikund-Sonprayag-Guptkashi-Ukhimath-Chopta. After Chopta, the 3-kilometre trek to Tungnath starts. The trek will take 2 to 3 hours due to the difficult terrain and high altitude.
