Deoria Tal is a beautiful high-altitude lake located in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand, India. It is located at a height of 2438 metres. The perimeter of the lake is around 1 to 1.5 km. The tranquilly and panoramic view of the Himalayan peaks, including Chaukhamba, Nilkantha, Bandarpunch, Kedar Range, and Kalanag, that Deoria Tal is renowned for are what make it so special.

Deoria Tal is a tourist attraction near Ukhimath town in Uttarakhand. To go to Deoria Tal, tourists first have to reach Ukhimath. After Ukhimath, there are two options to reach Deoria Tal.

Ukhimath-Painj-Deoria Tal Trek
Ukhimath is the main town on the route to Deoria Tal. Starting from Ukhimath, a challenging trek led to Deoria Tal. The trek is extremely difficult. The total distance is around 6 to 7 kilometres. It will take around 4 to 5 hours. There are no hotels to eat at or buy snacks. Water availability is also limited in a few places. After Painj village, there is no shop to buy anything; hence, prepare everything in advance.
NOTE: This route is used by very few tourists who want to enjoy natural beauty and a difficult trek.
Sari to Deoria Tal Trek
The Sari-Deoria Tal Trek is one of the most common treks used by tourists to reach Sari-Deoria Tal. first Tourists reach Sari village from Ukhimath using a taxi or bus. Taxis and buses are available to Sari at any time. The distance between Ukhimath and Sari is around 12 km, and it will take around 30 to 40 minutes.
After reaching Sari, the trek starts for Deoria Tal. The distance of the trek is around 2 to 2.5 km. It will take around 2 to 3 hours because the climb is difficult. There are many shops and water facilities available in between treks.
Best time to visit Deoria Tal
Deoria Tal is open to tourists throughout the year. Tourists can visit anytime. In summer, the weather is pleasant, and the temperature is around 15 to 20 degrees Celsius. Many natural flowers in grassland can be seen during this period of time.
In winter, the temperature is generally below 10 degrees Celsius. In December and January, Deoria Tal is covered with snow. This is the best time for snow-loving tourists to visit.
